His and Her Weekend Shenanigans

We had a crazy busy weekend so without further ado, here are our --

Sami's Shenanigans

**For those who are new to our blog - WELCOME - purple is Amanda, red is Sean, blue is for both of us. We hope it helps make it less confusing for our readers to know who is talking and sharing. :) **

Friday:
Sean stayed home while I went to sit under the Friday Night Lights at the high school in my division. One of my former students that I have remained close with asked me to come watch her in the marching band. I was happy to do it of course and loved seeing so many of my former students. It is nice to hear the shrieks when they see you and run up for a hug. I miss them all so much!
The boys are gearing up to play!

Saturday:
Meat pies and sausage rolls are traditional Australian snack foods but they are not easy to find in the U.S. One of Amanda's friends told us about a pie shop in Richmond that is run by a New Zealand couple. She said they sold the same types of pies and sausage rolls that I am used to. Richmond is about a 2 hour drive from our home so I hadn't had a chance to visit but since it was on the way to the fair, I talked everyone into trying this place. We tried several different pies and desserts - it was all very tasty. The steak & vegetable pie and the sausage roll tasted just like the ones from home. Now I have somewhere to go when I have a hankering for some good Aussie food.

Every year, my parents, Sean, and I travel to Richmond for the Virginia State Fair. We start talking about it in July because we are all so excited to go back! This year the fair's layout was different but it was just as fun. We saw the cows, sheep, goats, and chickens. We rode the Ferris Wheel at night and saw all the rides lit up. We played some games and won a few prizes. Mom won a giraffe pillow pet and a blue monkey. Dad won a wolf. I won a puffy heart and a giraffe. We ate amazing food - corn dogs, elephant ears, fried Oreos, fried Reese's, and fried Pecan Pie. I am already counting down until we can go back - only 363 days to go!
The best day of fall!! :)
Sunday:
We had a typical Sunday for us -
Sean cleaned up a little bit and got lunches and breakfast organized. He also grocery shopped and bathed the dog.
Amanda set up the blog posts, did the laundry, and graded papers.
This is our typical Sunday routine - it works for us and we are getting pretty good at getting everything done.
The nice thing about this Sunday is that our house smelled amazing as we worked through our chores. When we were at the fair on Saturday we visited a Scentsy booth. I saw a warmer that was the cutest thing ever - a cupcake - and decided I had to have it. We bought some scents (French Toast, Pumpkin Pie, Gooey Gooey Gumdrop) and set up the warmer first thing Sunday morning with the French Toast scent. Within an hour, the house smelled so good!

We hope your weekend was as good as ours. What was your favorite moment?

Happy Monday,
